The Goodest Boy!

Mackinaw is a special dog and we are blessed to be owned by him.

This 8 year-old Labrador retriever has never ceased to amaze us. On this day we asked him to snatch a goose from a very tough spot, one we frankly weren't sure was possible but the law says you have to make every attempt to recover downed game and a well trained dog is the best way to facilitate such recoveries.

So, we lined him up and sent him on a 200 yard blind with a river crossing and an almost sheer cliff that only a critter with 4 legs could navigate.

Amidst the cheering and encouragement from all in our group, he pulled off an impressive retrieve and exhausted, delivered a very dead Canada to our waiting hand. He is indeed "The Goodest Boy."
